The Bible
We accept the Bible - 39 books of the Old Testament and 27 books of the New Testament - as God's inspired, authoritative, inerrant, infallible, sufficient, and self-interpreting Word and the only rule of faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16). We are bound by Scripture and are not obliged to believe or do anything beyond what the Bible teaches.Trinity
We believe in the God of the Bible and affirm our faith in the Trinity - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Godhead is a unity of these three distinct yet fully divine persons. The three are one true, eternal God, the same in substance, equal in power and glory.Creation and fall
We believe that God created everything that is seen and unseen. God created man and woman in His own image. Everything was created perfect but the sin of our first parents - Adam and Eve - corrupted everything and brought evil, suffering and sorrow into this world as we see now.Jesus Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ as revealed to us in the Scriptures and that God set Him to redeem us from the fall and reconcile us and all creation to Himself. One of the three persons of the Trinity, He is fully divine and fully human. We believe that Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, died for our sins and was raised for our justification. We believe that He will come again to judge the world and save those who trust in Him. We believe that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone (Acts 4:11-12).Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, one of the three persons of the Trinity. We believe that the Holy Spirit Works in us to produce saving faith and He continues His transforming work in all those who profess faith in Jesus Christ.Church
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has instituted the Church, the body of believers, to be a witness here on earth and to testify to the Grace and Glory of God in Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus Himself is the Head of the Church. The Confessions
We affirm the Biblical doctrines and teachings as stated in the Westminster confession of faith and the Westminster Shorter and Larger Catechisms. Our Ministers, Elders and Communicant members are expected to fully agree with these confessions whereas Associate members have a larger liberty of opinion. The Reformation Slogans
We also affirm the Reformation Slogans (Solas) that are at the heart of the Protestant faith.- Sola scriptura: “Scripture alone”
- Sola fide: “faith alone”
- Sola gratia: “grace alone”
- Solo Christo: “Christ alone”
- Soli Deo gloria: “to the glory of God alone”
